Asupply chain models in senior care management

Y.-S. Chen , Y.-H. Lin
As the baby boomers are aging, there is a growing population of seniors. This global phenomenon renders increasingly complicated new business issues and opportunities. In this paper, we analyze the demand in senior care management using the customer service life cycle approach. We then analyze the supply in senior care management based on the daily necessities seniors need, including health, money, eating, travelling, entertaining, living, clothing, and education. Based on the demand and supply classifications, we propose supply chain models of senior care management in three markets: frequent travel seniors, less healthy seniors, and elder seniors who need assisted living. The supply chain strategy for each model is analyzed.
